andy sturgeon design to create garden for new ecohome, the highest house in the south downs

Andy Sturgeon Design has designed the gardens for the highest house in the South Downs National Park. Working closely with architects Baker Brown, the design of the house is ‘hyperlocal’ which means it will be built as far as possible using locally sourced and recycled materials allowing it to sit harmoniously in its site, complying with the local strict planning policies for the National Park and surrounding area.

The garden design is inspired by the South Downs and its iconic features and views. Making use of vernacular materials and working with local craftspeople, this exciting project will create a garden totally in keeping with its location. Although the house and garden are a modern design, this design approach will instantly root the new home in this stunning piece of the British countryside.
