landscaping work underway at landmark development 21 moorfield, london

Work is progressing on the landscaping at 21 Moorfields, a 17 storey landmark development designed by Wilkinson Eyre and built over Moorgate Station including the new Crossrail link. The scheme will include a new public realm, raised walkways, bridges, a ‘City Garden’ and six levels of extensive roof terraces. While the main building works approaches completion, our team is now working on- and off-site to check and prepare for the installation of the schemes later in the year.

There are significant engineering challenges to build above the station as well as in an area close to many historic buildings, and the new development requires huge pilings that penetrate deep below ground. The landscape design will complement the significant steelworks that will support the building above and reflect the geological challenges of this feat of engineering. The planting scheme of evergreen architectural plants along with seasonally changing perennials, grasses, spring bulbs and shrubs will ensure there are many calming green spaces for people to enjoy in this iconic urban development.
