Andy Sturgeon Design shortlisted for Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Design

Andy Sturgeon Design has been shortlisted as part of a larger group to submit a design for the national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II in St. James Park. Five teams were shortlisted as part of an international masterplan competition.

We are part of a team headed by architects, Wilkinson Eyre, and including Lisa Vandy, Fiona Clarke, DP9 Limited, The Townscape Consultancy, Hilson Moran, Atelier One, Ralph Appelbaum Associates, Opera, Core5 and Speirs Major Light Architecture.

It is an honour to be shortlisted for this very important project.

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Queen Elizabeth II National Memorial Masterplan” said WilkinsonEyre Director Jim Eyre. “I had the pleasure of meeting Queen Elizabeth at the opening of a number of our projects and this rare opportunity to infuse new meaning into one of London’s most iconic landscapes will honour her memory for all. St James’s Park provides an extraordinary setting for a memorial celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s enduring legacy as a unifying figure, blending formality and warmth to reflect her unparalleled role in British life and the Commonwealth.”

The winning team will be announced this summer.
