B. Arch Landscape Architecture, MA Landscape Architecture (ongoing)

Melis studied landscape architecture in Istanbul, focusing on urban design, landscape design and planning. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), she took part in workshops, multidisciplinary and international competitions. She was a member of ‘yerdenyuksek’, an interdisciplinary group that sets workshops to experience creativity, basic design and architecture with children. After her bachelor’s degree, she worked full time with Aytac Architects in the role of landscape architect. Then she started master’s program in Landscape Architecture at ITU.

While continuing her graduate education, Melis continued to do freelance work and participate in competitions. During this process, she held an academic in a research assistant position in Turkey since 2021. She continued her academic studies and gave landscape design projects and basic design courses at a state university. She continues to take place in some independent research collectives like ‘insandisi’ and ‘daragacizmir’. She joined ASD in 2022.
