mitino

moscow

In 2019 Andy Sturgeon Design was appointed to redesign a segment of the linear park running through the Mitino area of Moscow.

The redesign of the park creates a modern and dynamic park for the community providing a series of unique spaces for all ages. The key spaces including an adventure playground, amphitheatre, plaza’s and ice rink, connected by a series of flowing meandering paths creating journeys through the open park with opportunities for informal play, exercise or relaxing beneath the dappled shade of the trees and amongst the vibrant planting.

Dense tree and shrub planting to the edge of the park will create an ecologically rich buffer that will provide privacy from the surrounding road, whilst the planting to the centre will provide seasonal variety and moments of joy. Summer will showcase a riot of colour in vast mixed perennial borders, autumn will bring rich and vibrant leaf colour, whilst winter will reveal statuesque evergreen trees alongside bright winter stems and berries.
