The Strand is a grade II listed building situated at number 80 of Strand in London, on the site of the former Hotel Cecil, which was largely demolished apart from the Strand façade, and between the Adelphi Theatre and the Savoy Hotel. It is an iconic art Deco building erected in the 30’s. The same art deco style will inspired the design of the landscape areas. Art Deco features, geometries and patterns act as a connector to articulate and give consistency to the spaces. In addition, concepts of welcome, energy, style, exclusivity, lush, well-being and novelty have also influenced the design of the places. The theme is carried through these spaces with the use of similar materials, feature paving patterns, relevant lighting and textural planting. These high quality and inviting spaces encourage relaxation, socializing and highlight attractive views through the historic building.
Our work includes several external spaces with diverse characters, at different levels.
At Strand level:
• Strand colonnade
• Entrance lobby
• Beer garden
At the embankment level:
• Central courtyard
• Embankment entrance
At the 11th level:
