This house, with glorious views of the South Downs and Channel, felt very disconnected from the garden and surrounding countryside. The pool was uninviting and there was little in the way of features to encourage biodiversity.
We reconfigured the terracing around the pool to create a more practical and sociable area, where possible reusing existing walling and making changes where necessary to enhance the arrangement.
In the garden, we added pathways to create inviting routes to woodland trails and the kitchen garden. And to encourage biodiversity, we added a wildlife pond and large amount of woodland planting and we framed views out to the Downs and the coastline beyond.
