Sussex House nominated for prestigious award
A modern house in Sussex for which Andy Sturgeon designed the garden has been shortlisted for a prestigious 2026 South Awards by The Royal Institute of British Architects.
To match the ten acre home’s spectacular setting high in the South Downs, we have restored and created chalk downland meadows knitting the architecture into the landscape and worked closely with the South Downs National Park to create a sensitive intervention in the landscape. Around the buildings we created a series of semi sheltered gardens around the buildings that can tolerate extreme exposure in this stunning location.
The architects leading the project, Baker Brown, designed the house on hyperlocal design, using as much as possible, materials sourced and made on site.
The winner of the award will be announced later in 2026.
