Our client in his late twenties wanted a garden where he could entertain friends and ‘toast marshmallows’ so we gave him a gas firepit, a hot tub and a putting green.  

Although it sits 6 stories up I wanted the garden to have a waterside atmosphere with a strong visual connection to the docks and the River Thames below which encircle the development and are visible in every direction.  To make this connection I chose timber decking reminiscent of jetties and boardwalks, river washed pebbles to create a beach and a shallow pool which reflects the sky.  Phormiums and grasses sway in the breeze and evoke the reeds at the waters edge.  The windsock sculptures are permanently blowing and inject vibrant colour into the scheme.
