Unusually our client requested ‘lots of plants’ which was a brief made in heaven as far as I’m concerned.   ‘Low maintenance’, with good reason, is so often high on the list of requests so it was a joy to make a garden which could include so many different planted areas each with its own atmosphere. 

Late summer and autumn prairies filled with colour carry seed heads and grassy stems well into winter and a tropical walk with palms and tree ferns leads to the swimming pool which we also designed.  The soil was challenging and Alders were the only avenue tree which could stomach the excessive groundwater
